Mr. Miyashita has more than 30 years of experience in commercial real property acquisitions and asset management. He began his career in real estate at Cushman Realty Corporation in Los Angeles, helping the firm create and adopt new marketing and research tools and technologies used in commercial leasing and investment sales. Subsequently he joined Mitsui Fudosan USA, the American subsidiary of the Japanese real estate giant, to assist with leasing of newly developed office properties in Los Angeles and San Francisco. In 1995, he joined JE Robert Companies (later became Archon Group), which then had formed a JV with Goldman Sachs to acquire, manage and dispose of commercial property portfolios obtained from failed banks and thrifts. After relocating to Tokyo, he subsequently joined several private firms in Japan over an approximate 11-year period, working to acquire and work out non-performing debt portfolios from Japanese banks, advise and assist in establishing asset management platforms for foreign investors (U.S. mainly), originate commercial debt, and provide transaction advice and support. After returning to the United States with his family in 2011, he focused his attention on in-bound investment capital from Japan, helping both small and large-cap Japanese investors to acquire and manage assets in California, Texas and New York. Mr. Miyashita is a hands-on manager with deep experience with various asset types, including office, multi-family, industrial, retail and hospitality properties. He is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and has fluency in Japanese.
